Some Girls - Heaven's Pregnant Teens (Epitaph, 2005)
This five piece band from San Diego, California delivers Heaven's Pregnant Teens; a thirteen track album of non-stop, in your face, grindcore action. All of the tracks run a little over the one-minute mark, which is not out of the ordinary if you know the members previous history. These musicians have played in other acts such as Give Up the Ghost, American Nightmare, the Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower and The Locust. This so-called supergroup has a reputation for creating some brain melting music that will leave the listener asking, "what the hell just happened?" The real question is how many of those listeners will be asking for more. The album has a fierce sound that will turn away some listeners that are unacquainted with comparable artists. But, those who are fans of a similar sound will feel right at home. Alex Newport (Sepultura, the Locust, At The Drive In), the producer of this album, has been breaking down barriers with all of the artists with who he has worked. Keep an eye out for more projects that Alex Newport takes on; he is building quite a reputation. This album creates total chaos and disturbing music that will give the listener a destructive attitude if they didn't have one already. It will not disappoint the fans of their previous work that are looking for some brutal, tough music.
