Folly - Resist Convenience (Triple Crown, 2006)
A band that adds new elements to their music is hard to come across nowadays. Folly continues to do it with their latest release, Resist Convenience, by brilliantly producing hardcore mixed with ska influences. Their music is definitely hardcore, but unlike most of the metalcore bands out there, they also try to do something different. Resist Convenience is so refreshingly unique that you’ll find yourself continually going back for another listen. Comical lyrics have caused many to deem Folly a “joke band”. Despite this title, this is a band on the rise that should find a solid audience with people that enjoy a group that doesn’t take themselves too seriously. Ska fans should remember that Folly only uses influences of ska and is primarily a hardcore act. I highly recommend Resist Convenience to anyone that is a hardcore lover looking for something a little different.
